The Nerves have been hangin’ in our ears lately. The short-lived, L.A. based band lasted from about 1974 to 1978, and were able to pump out some jams in a short amount of time.
Most notably covered by Blondie, the song “Hanging on the Telephone” is 70’s power pop at it’s best.
There is also a pretty cool-tite album that came out in 2011 called Under the Covers Vol. 2: A Tribute to Paul Collins, Peter Case, and Jack Lee. Featuring covers by Grass Widow, Davila 666, Tijuana Panthers, and the Mantles, its definitely worth a listen. Especially love the Hunx and His Punk version of “When U Find Out”. Dope.
