King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard at The Echo

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard was one of the few bands we were excited to see at FYF, but they played way too early and we missed them. Bummer. Well, The Echo had our backs and gave us the opportunity to catch them in a smaller, chiller setting.

The Australian psych-garage rockers brought the jams! Their set started off with a medley of jams off their awesome 2014 album I’m In Your Mind Fuzz that went on for a solid 20 minutes. They kept the energy really high, and even when they played their mellower tunes the crowd was captivated. These moments were short-lived though, because once they blazed back into a song like Cellophane, the crowd went wild. Towards the end of the set singer, Stu Mackenzie, played a few songs on flute. We never knew playing the flute could be so badass.

Check our pics of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard at The Echo below and if they’re ever playing in your hood, don’t miss it. King Gizzard are a must see!
