Ohh my my! Would you look at that – Desert Daze is back again to BLOW MINDS!
After announcing a move from Joshua Tree to Moreno Beach in Lake Perris, and sending previous Phases into orbit, the folks behind Desert Daze have now released the (nearly?) complete 2018 lineup. Phase 4 brought the most recent addition, including: Slowdive, Wooden Shjips, IDLES, Death Valley Girls, LA Witch, Stonefield, and more. And that’s on top of the last stellar Phase that included: My Bloody Valentine, Shellac, Julia Holter, Escape-ism (Ian Svenonius, who will again return to lead the Opening Ceremonies), GUM, and Yonatan Gat & The Eastern Medicine Singers. Previously announced artists include: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Warpaint, Death Grips, Uncle Acid & The Dead Beats, Ty Segall & White Fence, and a grip more! Scope the official poster with the lineup for each day, and dive into our playlist, Desert Daze 2018: A Cool-Tite Playlist, below. Desert Daze 2018 will take place on October 12 to 14th.
Although it’s easy to be skeptical about a major venue/location change, we have total faith that the Desert Daze crew will deliver nothing short of magical! In fact, we KNOW they can do it – consider the transition from Mecca in 2015 to Joshua Tree in 2016 and 2017.
While we have not yet looked into where exactly we are going to stay (AirBnb options appear to be non-existent), we hear the camping situation is much improved (real showers and toilets) as the organizers look to make use of the existing campgrounds and facilities of the new location. The lake should make for a memorable setting, and we’re interested to see how organizers plan to turn it into an “Italian style beach club with lounging, swimming, sunbathing and boat rides.” Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to the psychedelic good times that we’ve come to expect from Desert Daze!
