The 2016 Desert Daze music festival is less than a month away! If you haven’t started preparing, no fear – there’s plenty of time to buy tickets and figure out a place to crash, AND really get to know some of the dope bands you may or may not know!
The event takes place October 14th to 16th at the Institute of Mental Physics out in Joshua Tree, CA (but don’t get too comfortable – sounds like this may be the last festival at this venue). Tickets start at $74 for single day passes, and $165 for 3-day passes, plus there’s VIP, hotel, and camping options as well. Tickets are also available at local retailers like Amoeba without some of the fees. The daily lineups have been announced, but new additions keep sneaking their way onto the bill (e.g. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard on Friday, and Metz on Sunday).

Personally, Primus, Television, and The Sonics are top of my list, along with Washed Out and Deerhunter for their tastefully chill vibes, King G and Thee Oh Sees for their wicked, wild energy, and then The Black Angels doing Passover should be nothing less than amazing! As far as new finds, something about Suuns has me hooked. Seriously, so much good stuff!
